Nordstrom Gives Buying Preference to Farmers Who Don’t Mutilate Lambs
Nordstrom, one of America’s largest department store chains, has announced that it will give purchasing preference to Australian farmers who guarantee wool from unmulesed merino sheep. The company has also pledged to have a committed timeline for achieving the goal of sourcing wool entirely from farmers who do not mutilate lambs by the end of this year.

SmartWool to Pay New Zealand Farmers Millions of Dollars to End Lamb Mutilations in 2005
The decision of Colorado-based sock and garment dealer SmartWool to give New Zealand sheep farmers a premium of $30 million over seven years to end the cruel practice of mulesing and provide merino wool from non-mutilated sheep is a giant step toward the end of lamb suffering.
